He came humbly, this is a major comfort for those who are weary. Every days has troubles. Christ gently taught us to seek His kingdom as sure relief from our anxiety of this life. Sinful strength makes men proud. Our society teaches darwinian thinking that the strong eats the weak..
Jesus does no such thing. He owns it all and sympathizes with us.. He cares for us. He commands but gently and with compassion. When God calls us to a new life He provides for us. He is involved in our lives.
Jesus commands not to be anxious for anything
And don’t worry about your life. Our life is more than stuff. The true remedy is to put Christ first and seek His kingdom.. everything in this world is passing and should not give our heart to this world.
1 – Consider the ravens
Somehow the birds are getting along fine without help. God is feeding them. God loves and values us more than them.. Why would He feed them and not us? He wont forget us. We must reject self deception that is not a loving or caring Father.
2 – Anxious People
If you can’t do the least thing (add a cubit to your stature) – then why be anxious for anything. A wise man recognizes that He needs Gods help. Know who is doing the
3 – Beautiful Lillies
Solomon didn’t even compare to God clothing the grass. God is the one. It is a small thing for God to clothe and feed us. God doesn’t strain to provide for us. He is running the show. We have to learn this and be at peace. We are not in control. We are not self-made. We are sheep and we need a shepherd and that shepherd is Jesus.
The world worries about things they don’t have. Seek Christ and His kingdom and all these things will be added unto you. He gives us in the sacraments these pictures of how God will feed us not just our physical bodies but our souls. He gave us Jesus so that we may be feed for eternal life. How can we fear that when He loved us so much He gave us His son so that we may have life.
We should trust Him that He will provide our needs. He reminds us to watch our hearts. Be like Him. Live the Christian life that overflows in love.
Luke 12:22-34 (NKJV) 22 Then He said to His disciples, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. 23 “Life is more than food, and the body [is more] than clothing. 24 “Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds? 25 “And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 26 “If you then are not able to do [the] least, why are you anxious for the rest? 27 “Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 “If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more [will He clothe] you, O [you] of little faith? 29 “And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. 30 “For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. 31 “But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. 32 “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. 33 “Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys. 34 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
