The Mediator Must Be True God

Introduction

Jesus Christ the man is our mediator and our only mediator. 1 Timothy emphasizes His humanity.

“For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,” – 1 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭5‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

1 – He always existed – John 1:1

His humanity has an origin but He always was. What was always and what became. The Word became flesh.

2 – He is creator

3 – He uniquely bears the image of God

Col 1:15, Heb 1:3, 2 Cor 4:4, Heb 1

4 – Jesus Himself claimed to be God

5 – Jesus asserts Equality with God the Father
