Can Christians backslide?
Can they turn away from the faith. They do sometimes backslide into great sins. Westminster confession 17:3
Hebrews 2:3, Luke 9:26, Phil 2:12, Hebrews 6:4-6, Mat 13:6, 2 Titus 2:2,
These warnings are means to confront false Christians, and to convict true Christians
1 John 2:19, Hebrews 10:14
“For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. – Hebrews 10:14 NKJV
Jesus blood, sacrifice, His merit perfects perfectly those who are being sanctified.
“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,” – Romans 5:1 NKJV

Works are the fruit of Gods electing salvation.
Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV) For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Romans 8:29 (NKJV) For whom He foreknew, He also predestined [to be] conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Believers will struggle their whole lives, we don’t always feel the full assurance. Peter backslid – he denied Christ but he was turned back by the power of the Spirit.
“And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”” – Luke 22:31-32 NKJV
The power of God moved Peter to repentance and to turn back.
There are consequences to backsliding but we don’t slide to destruction.

2 – stop committing adultery with the world instead give all your love to the Lord james 4:4-10
3 – Fast run away from all temptation you are not a common man 1 Cor 10:13-14
4 – beat your body black and blue to keep it in check in the word and the Spirit and the word n 1 corn 9:26
5 – plead with the mighty king of all to help you. Eph 6
