Lord, teach us to pray: Pray Saying … Thy Kingdom Come

Prayers Paternal Privilege: 1st petition let your name be hallowed. Your kingdom come. Men do not submit to God as King

Prayers Perspective of Purpose: the priority of all prayer is Gods kingdom. When we have this perspective that the will of God is the most important thing. His ways are best when we have that perspective. When we do this our ours will be truly answered. Your will be done defines the coming of the kingdom.

You cannot submit to Gods rule or from the heart unless you are saved. Your kingdom come. What it is not: it is not a call for the universal kingdom to come. The universal kingdom of God refers to the absolute sovereign will of God which cannot ever be opposed. God rules over all. His universal kingdom is always obeyed without opposition. Gods decretive will.. Isa 46:10 – Psa 103:19 – Eph 1:11 –

In some sense the kingdom of God had not come. In some sense His will is not done. Preceptive will. His will of command. This prayer is a prayer that men will repent. This is a great prayer for salvation. When you pray thy kingdom come you are praying for salvation. Christ saves us, works in us so that we submit to the Fathers will.. Psa 2 – man thinks he can stop God or thwart His plans. Pride. Psa 110 – At the resurrection and ascension that kingdom has begun.. John 18:37 – Mat 26:64 – Jesus references Daniel 7 of Himself. Jesus preaches the kingdom of God is at hand. Luke 4:43 – Luke 6:20 – Luke 8:1, 9:2,9:11 – Luke 10:9,11 – Acts – the Gospel of the kingdom. Acts 1, Acts 2:30, 2:36 – we pray your kingdom come because people are still being saved. And also need to pray to submit to His will and His kingdom. So we pray “thy kingdom come”

Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as [it is] in heaven. 3 Give us day by day our daily bread. 4 And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.”
